Diwali is one of the main festival of Hindu religion in India. It is also known as Festival of Lights celebrated all over India as well as in abroad. This year the main day of Diwali festival is 30th October 2016. The festival falls on Sunday this year. This light festival is five days long festival starting from Dhanteras. The festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil, light over dark and knowledge over ignorance.The main day of Diwali festival is celebrated on the Amavasya of Kartik month as per Hindu calendar. In this year i.e. 2016, the festival will start from 28th October with Dhanteras and ends on 1st November 2016 with Bhai Duj. The main day where Goddess Lakshmi is worship in all Hindu families falls on 30th October.

It is the custom in India in all households that people clean and decorates their home, offices etc. before the start of this festive season. People wear new clothes on Diwali night, light candles and oil days (Clay lamps) in the house. They worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi as a symbol of wealth and prosperity.After this Pooja, friends and family members visited each other home and exchange sweet as a token of love. There are lighting fireworks and crackers after this Diwali Pooja. It was believed that crackers are fire on this holy day to drive off the evil forces on earth. Though this tradition of fireworks is decreasing year by year as people are now more aware of environment pollution. The entire period of this festival is shopping fiesta in our nation.

The first day of this year Diwali festival begins with Dhanteras celebrate on 28th October which falls on 18th day of Dusshera. The next day is celebrated as Naraka Chaturdashi which falls on 29th October. The main day Diwali is the third day of this 5-day long festival. The next day is celebrated as Diwali Padwa on 31st October and last final fay as Bhai duj (dedicated to the relationship of brother and sister) on 1st Nov. People of other community and in lives in other parts of the country celebrated this festival with different having different traditions and rituals. This year the best time of Lakshmi Pooja is as:
