The brand new Honda Navi 110 is the first of its kind.
You know what is new about Honda Navi 110 launched in February at Auto Expo 2016? You can only book it by installing a smartphone app! What’s more, this bike is highly customisable and gives you the freedom to choose different body options and coloured body panels – a first for any bike in India. Navi is presently available in a single variant.
The first look at the bike may make you wonder whether this machine is a motorcycle or a moped. This scooter-sized motorcycle has approximately the same seat height and driving dynamics as that of a scooter. The space below the fuel tank, where the bike’s engine should be, is vacant!
For all its sophistication, the instrument console of Honda Navi remains basic with just an analogue speedometer and an analogue odometer. What’s most surprising is that the bike does not come equipped with a fuel gauge.
Powered by a 109.2 cc engine, it produces a max of 8 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 8.96 Nm @ 5,500 rpm. It is equipped with the same Honda scooters V-Matic automatic transmission. The engine is powerful enough to give a top speed of 81 kmph.
With a weight of 101 kg, this small-built bike is ideal for ladies wanting to get a feel of a bike. The seat height is conveniently located for easy mount and dismount. Its fuel tank capacity of only 3.8 litres makes it more suited for city run. Ride-wise, this bike is akin to a scooter, but better balanced. Good pick up makes the bike a pleasure to ride.
The bike is expected to give a mileage of around 60kmpl in the city.
The Comfort and Safety:
Navi uses a 12-inch front wheel whereas the rear measures 10-inch in size that is better than that of a scooter and gives the bike better stability on the road. The ground clearance of 156 mm too is better than that of a scooter.
The Honda Navi 110 is available in five eye-catching colours: Patriot Red, Hooper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black.
The starting price for Honda Navi 110 is Rs.39, 500.
From the time this bike was launched at the Auto Expo, it has been adored by the media as well as the show goers.Getting the same engine as that of Honda Activa that is fitted in this bike for around Rs.10, 000 less makes it even more attractive proposition. The lightweight and innovative design coupled with low cost may go to make it a successful product. Whether Honda succeeds in changing the mind-set of the Indian riders remains to be seen. But if it is successful, we may soon find even bigger machines, like PCX on the Indian roads.
Honda is known for producing powerful bikes and also lays stress on keeping the bike in top performance. They have power, life and durability. A good bike is one which can withstand the pressure and should be able to give smooth ride on nasty Indian roads. Honda’s this bike is one which can be trusted blindly. It has everything which a common Indian biker wants. A pinch of everything. Be it mileage, suspension and last but not least looks. Honda Navi is a stylish beast at an affordable price. Just go for it. It will make your life smooth and easy.
It is highly recommended to wear all the safety gears before riding on roads. Safety is prime while riding.
