JEE most commonly called as the Joint Entrance Examination is a two-ties examination conducted as Advanced and Mains by the main school governing board called as CBSE. The exam stands as the initial and utmost important step to get admission in the B.Tech and B.Arch programmes offered by IITs and NITs, NIT and other institute offer admission as per the Mains score while the IITs offer admission through JEE Advanced level of examinations.  JEE Main is also considered as the qualifying examination as the candidates passing in Mains are only allowed to appear for JEE Advanced exam. JEE Mains 2017 Eligibility Criteria

JEE MAIN 2017

Candidates are suggested to take a look at the different eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.

  • The preferred age limit for the aspirants of JEE Mains Examination should fall on and after 01 October 1992 for general candidates and for the SC, ST and PwD the age relaxation of 5 years is marked.
  • Candidates with a clear pass certificate or appearing in 12th Board in year 2015 or 2016 can apply for the examination with PCM as main subjects.
  • Candidates passing exam in the year 2014 are not eligible to appear in JEE Mains 2017.
  • Candidates can appear for the exam for three times in a lifetime only.
  • Diploma 3 years holder can also apply for the exam.

Application Fees

The application fees can be submitted through e-commerce and gateway option available at the time of filling form that can be filled only through online web portal only. The Pen and Paper based examination is charged with INR 1000 fees for  General and OBC Boys and for both online and Pen based examination fees is 1800, all other category as SC/ST/PWD/All Girls the fees is charged INR 500 and for both online and Pen based exam fees is 900.

JEE Mains Correction in form

The time period of one week will be provided for any changes in the submitted form, second half of January will appear as the chance for the changes to be made. Any request after the closing date of the period will not be considered.

JEE Mains Exam

The Examination will be held for the B.Tech and BE courses, 90 multiple choice question will be asked from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English mode as per the choice made during filling form, the mode of the examination is both online and offline. The duration of the exam is 3 hours for common candidates and for 40% and more disability the time is 4 hours. 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 marks deducted for every wrong answer attempted.

The weightage of each section Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is 30 questions each with 120 marks eacn and 360 in total.

JEE Mains Paper I

The JEE Main Paper 1 is compulsory and theory topics of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics will be asked.

JEE Mains Paper 2

JEE Mains Paper 2 is further divided in three parts as mathematics, aptitude test and drawing test.

JEE MAINS Result

The result of the exam will be out on 27th April 2017 and the candidates may check their result through online mode from the official website they need to enroll roll and date of birth for the information.
