Joining Indian Army is considered as the top most job honor for any candidates, the aspirants willfully prepare themselves for the entrance and physical examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi. The concerned authority schedules the examination two times in a year, generally the examination is conducted in the month of April and September. NDA 2017

National Defence Academy

NDA 2017 will be conducted twice a year in the venue ALL INDIA, the examination recruit for the different posts in Air Force, Navy and Army. The interested candidates may apply for the desired post for NDA I 18th January, 2017 and for NDA II 7th June. Citizenship

The appearing candidates should be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan. A Tibetan Refugee settled in India before 1962 with an intention to permanently settle is also eligible. A Person of Indian origin migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan & East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India are also welcomed to being part of the exam.

Qualification Criteria

The bare minimum criterion required for Indian Army Wing, Navy and Air Force is as follows:

Eligibility for Indian Army:

The aspirants for Indian Army must have completed 12th or its equivalent exam from well-recognized board. The candidates appearing for the exam can also apply for the post.

Eligibility for Indian Navy and Air Force:

The aspirants of Indian Navy and Air Force must have passed 12th or appearing for the same from a well-recognized board or University with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects.

Age Limit, Gender & Marital Status

For NDA (1) 2017: The candidates with age as follows 2nd July, 1998 to 1st July 2001 are eligible for the exam. If born before 2nd July,1998 and after 1st July 2001 than you are not eligible for the NDA (1) 2007 exam.

For NDA (2) 2017: The candidates willing to write the exam should have age in between 2nd January 1999 to 1st July 2002. If the candidates doesn’t  fall in the decided criteria of 2nd January 1999 to 1st July 2002 they are not allowed to appear in the exam.

Unmarried male candidates with above age limit and qualifications can appear for the exam, girls or female candidates are not eligible for NDA Examinations.

Physical Standards

Candidates must clear all the physical and mental health standards set maintained by National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination. The detailed information is mentioned below.

At the times of medical examination try to avoid minor defects.

  • Wax (Ears)
  • Piles
  • Overweight or Underweight
  • Varicocele
  • Deviated Nasal Septum

Body Tattoos

Body Tattoos will be accepted in case of inner face or forearm. A permanent tattoo on any other body part is not acceptable. Tribes with tattoo marks on face and body as per the existing custom and tradition will be permitted only per the case.

Height and Weight Standards

The minimum height required for Air Force recruitment is 162.5cms. For the Gorkha and the aspirants from North-Eastern Part of India as Garwal and Kumaon the height is considered 5cms less. In the case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minimum height is further reduced to 2cms.
