P.V. Sindhu has won several accolades at a very young age. On August 10th 2013, at the age of 18, Sindhu was the first ever women’s singles player from India to have won a medal at the prestigious World Championships. Two years later, on March 30th 2015, at the tender age of 20 received the fourth highest civilian honor in India, the Padma Shri.

On August 18th 2016, she broke all records by becoming the youngest Indian female athlete to reach the finals of an Olympic event. She achieved this feat by defeating Japanese shuttler Nozomi Okuhara in the semi finals. As per the Badminton World Federation rankings released on September 21st 2012, PV Sindhu had already broken into the top 20.
