Sagarika Ghose is a famous Indian Journalist, an author and a news anchor. She is now working as a consulting editor at the Times of India. Sagarika is a well-educated woman. She was born on 8th November 1964 in New Delhi. She married to the journalist and famous news anchor RajdeepSardesai in the year 1994 and they have a child named TariniSardesai. Sagarika received the Rhodes scholarship in the year 1987 and she pursued her education in the Modern History from the Magdalen College and M. Phil from St. Antony’s College, Oxford. She comes from a family background where her father was in the Indian Administrative Service and her two aunts of which, one was a former ambassador and a diplomat and the other was the former justice of the Supreme Court of India. Sagarika started her journalism career in the year 1991 and she started working with the Times of India, The Indian Express and the outlook magazine. She also became the first woman in the year 2004, to host ‘Question time India’. She was the deputy editor and also the prime time anchor on CNN-IBN. Her writings have been criticized a lot by the right-wing viewers. She resigned from CNN-IBN, when Reliance Industries Ltd. led by Mr. MukeshAmbani acquired the channel. She joined another channel and currently she is working as the consultant deputy editor for the Times of India. Sagarika came into controversies when she interviewed Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on 9th November 2011. The interview was claimed as live, but it was aired a day later and was edited. When asked Sagarika said that there was some technical glitch and she along with CNN-IBN had to give a formal apology. She has also won several awards in her career like the Gr8-ITA award, FICCI, CF Andrews award for her excellence in Journalism. She also received the best anchor award by the ITA.
Sagarika hosted a show called Question Time Didi, which was an interaction based show with the Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee and the students. It was a debate show, and Sagarika won the NT award for the best Public Debate show in the year 2013. She has taken many interviews in her life with big-big personalities. Sagarika has also written two novels namely The Gin Drinkers, which was published in the year 1988 and Blind Faith, which was published in 2004 worldwide..
