Sandeep Tomar is one of the promising names in the Indian wrestling. The courageous wrestler who hails from Uttar Pradesh has achieved a lot in short tenure. Since his early days, the wrestler has been a tough opponent in India and at the international events. He has been coached by Kuldeep Singh since 2011. Sandeep Tomar is known for his attacking game and is one of the toughest opponents to beat. He works for Indian Navy and won Gold Medal in 2014 Military World Games.
He was the National Junior Champion in 2011. He first won the Gold Medal at the National Championship in 2012. He then repeated his medal in 2012 Copa Brazil for his country in the same year. In 55 Kg freestyle event at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in 2013, he won Gold Medal again. He repeated this feat in 2016 Commonwealth Wrestling Championship as well. He also won a Bronze Medal at the Golden Grand Prix held in Azerbaijan in 2016. He was the Gold Medal holder in 2015 and 2016 in National Senior as well.
He made his name bright when he was qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. He won the Bronze Medal at the 1st World Olympic Qualifying Tournament held in Mongolia. He participated in Rio Olympics but could not win a medal. He participated in 2015 Pro Wrestling league for Bangalore Franchise. He is representing the Haryana Hammers in 2017 for Pro Wrestling League.
